At this time, the venue was closing and we were told we could not stay in the parking lot and that we would have to wait for our ride at the entrance. They turned off all the lights and 18 girls were left sitting in a dark parking lot in the outskirts of New Braunfels. A sheriff came to wait with us because he said it was unsafe to wait alone. I called the bus company again and they said that they were sending another driver, also leaving in Austin, but first they would have to meet up to get our things. It was now 12:45 and our bus had not left Austin. Our bus finally showed up at 2:15 to pick us up- almost two and a half hours after our contract specified. We were picked up by a different driver and finally made it home around 3:00 AM. I did not have words with our driver about the situation but decided I would contact the company on Monday. The company issued a half-hearted apology for our treatment but did not offer me a complete refund, which I had requested.
