We had about 30 people and went bar hopping through Seattle. The driver was very friendly the whole time until the very end of the evening when it was time to leave and he outright requested money for his tip. I explained to him that we had paid the 20% tip at the time of booking and I gave him $35 additional dollars, bringing the total tip up to 26%. I then received a very rude email the next day from the company accusing myself and our guests as being completely disrepectful and a group he had to babysit (which was not the case at all). They accused me of being cheap and not tipping appropriately and that he should have told me to keep my $35 because I obviously needed it more than he did. I replied to the email saying I was shocked with the accusation and that the drivers description was not anything how the evening went. I asked them to please describe what the 20% gratuity that they describe on their site goes towards before they accuse me of not tipping. They specifically state that they accept it up front so guests can relax and enjoy their evening. I never received any kind of reply following my response to their false accusations. The majority of our budget is allocated to the venue and catering which is by far the biggest expense. Since we were able to get to a number that our budget allowed, we chose to go with a Saturday evening in June. There was the possibility of further savings going with a Sunday or Friday, but we are happy that we can host our guests during the weekend and minimize the amount of people who will need to use vacation time for our event.
